Bahn Networks, Inc., is a start-up company in Silicon Valley to
develop, manufacture and market high-speed Internet access products
based on an architecture named "Digital Access Optimization System"
(DAOS).
DAOS is an Ethernet-based DSL system, which provides traditional
phone service and high-speed Internet data services through
telephone pairs (local loops). It takes advantages of both
Ethernet and DSL technologies, enlarges the coverage of Ethernet,
and makes Public Ethernet (PEN) possible for today's operators and
customers.
DAOS is a revolutionary product that totally eliminates the traditional
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) layer as well as the cost and
complexity related with ATM. DAOS is optimized for IP and supports
everything over IP. It significantly increases performance and
efficiency, reduces the cost of and space requirements for Telco
Central Office equipment and makes itself the most cost-effective
DSL solution in the market.
Many industry surveys have determined that the quickest way to
overcome the current bandwidth bottleneck in accessing the Internet
will be via improved DSL over existing copper lines comprising
'the last mile' to the user. Our products are designed to fill
this need.
